SECOND MEDA WATER REGIONAL
EVENT ON LOCAL WATER MANAGEMENT
28, 29 & 30 APRIL 2008
Mansour Eddahbi Hotel – Palais des Congrès Conference Centre
Marrakech - Morocco
The “Second MEDA Water Regional Event”
(SMWRE) to be held on 28, 29 and 30 April 2008 in Marrakech
(Morocco) is organised by the RMSU within the framework of the
MEDA Water Programme “Euro-Mediterranean Regional Programme for
Local Water Management” and in coherence with the Declaration of
the Euro-Mediterranean Ministerial Conference on Local Water
Management (Turin, 1999).
The first objective of this SMWRE is to highlight the importance
of the MEDA Water Programme through the MEDA Water Projects
results.
In this Second MEDA Water Regional Event, the MEDA Water Projects
will have an opportunity:
- during the 2nd MEDA Water Partners
Workshop (28 & 29 April 2008), to present and optimise the
impact of their objectives, achieved results and technical
outputs by exchanging experiences and know-how gained towards
the National Authorities representatives, research, education
and training institutions, stakeholders, civil society and local
and regional experts ;
- during the 2nd MEDA Water Event
(30 April 2008), to discuss the conclusions of the MEDA Water
Partners Workshop in coordination with the MWP results and the
possibilities for the continuation of similar interventions in
future coherence with EU Initiative (Horizon 2020 and ENPI) and
other regional programmes.
Moreover, this regional event will give the
chance to organisations of the MEDA countries - not participating
in the MEDA Water Projects but falling within the scope of the
workshops - to enrich the debate by presenting their experiences.
Furthermore, following the 1st MEDA Water
Partners Conference organised on 15 & 16 April 2007 in Jordan,
MEDA countries involved or not in the MEDA Water Projects will
have the opportunity to discuss, finalise and propose future
collaboration to implement the MWP results.
The seminar language will be English with simultaneous translation
to/from French.
